about
Inspired by the Charity Mercy Ships, ‘Across the Sea’ is a passionate, stirring anthem, which dives deep into the virtues of mercy and grace.
Written and produced by the band’s frontman Samuel Thomas, ‘Across the Sea’ is a song with substance and meaning that displays his thoughtful songwriting abilities.
“We were greatly inspired by Mercy Ships to write a song about compassion. When we spoke with the charity, they encouraged us with the project and we loved the idea of promoting all the good that they do. It is inspirational to see how the charity is changing lives by providing medical care for Africa’s under-served poor"
"Sometimes song writing can be difficult and frustrating, but 'Across the Sea' just fell onto the page. It was a God-moment. I think it took about 5 minutes then I had the whole song."
"It's all in the first line: 'Come on and come with me, far across the sea...' It's an invitation to come on a journey and explore the amazing work Mercy Ships are doing for the underprivileged. I hope 'Across the Sea' touches hearts and encourages people to get involved and support the great work Mercy Ships are doing."
lyrics
[Verse 1]
Come on and come with me
Far across the sea
Where the ocean and horizon meet, with kindness and mercy
So come on and come with me
And we'll be singing…
[Chorus]
God have mercy on me, God have mercy
[Verse 2]
So come on and come with me
Through storm and ocean breeze
When your hope is gone, I won't be long, I'm here for all you need
So come on and come with me
And we'll be singing…
[Chorus]
God have mercy on me, God have mercy on me
God have mercy on me, God have mercy
[Bridge]
When the world bleeds, when your heart beats, when you’re hurting
When the world bleeds, when your heart beats, when you’re hurting
When you’ve lost hope, or got no home, you’re not alone
When the world bleeds, when your heart beats, when you’re hurting
When you’ve lost hope, or got no home, you’re not alone
[Outro]
When the world bleeds, when your heart beats, when you’re hurting
When you’ve lost hope, or got no home, you’re not alone

“We’ve got a lot to say about love, family and togetherness, and we’re passionate about getting our message out there. You can go fast alone… or you can go far together.”...more
